- What is the difference between seeding and ready-made turf?
- Seeding is a more economical solution that offers greater variety in species selection, but requires more time (4-8 weeks) for the area to reach its final form and needs strict care during germination. Ready-made turf (roll) offers an immediate aesthetic result from day one, as it is installed in a mature state, allowing the space to be used sooner. The choice depends on your budget, available time, and the specific conditions of your space.
- When is the ideal season for lawn planting in Corfu?
- Due to Corfu's mild Mediterranean climate, the ideal periods are autumn (late September to November) and spring (March to May). Autumn is often considered the best choice, as temperatures are favorable for rooting without the intense summer heat, while autumn rains assist with natural hydration.
- How often does a new lawn need watering and mowing?
- During the first 2-3 weeks after installation, the lawn requires daily or every-other-day watering (frequent, short-duration sessions) to keep the substrate moist and achieve proper rooting. Afterwards, the frequency gradually decreases. As for mowing, this is done when the grass reaches about 1/3 above the desired height (usually at 4-5 cm for most residential spaces).
